About Our Agency
In September 1975, Ronald W. Steele made history as the first Erie Agent on the eastern side of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, founding Steele Insurance Agency with a simple guiding principle:
“If I have helped one person each day, I will have done my job.”
For nearly 50 years, that principle has been the heart of everything we do. After Ronald’s passing in 2015, his wife Alice Steele carried forward his vision with dedication, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to our clients.
Today, we remain stronger than ever—steadfast in our responsibility to provide exceptional customer service, personalized coverage, and the insurance education our clients need to make confident decisions.
2025 marks a milestone year for our agency. Not only are we celebrating our 50th anniversary, but we are also proudly welcoming Rhonda Steele, Ronald and Alice’s daughter, as our new Principal Agent. Rhonda grew up in the world of insurance and has been thriving in the agency since 2016. She is deeply committed to honoring her father’s legacy while guiding the agency into a bright future—one she hopes to one day pass on to her own children.
As we celebrate this exciting new chapter, we also say “Happy Retirement” to Alice Steele, whose leadership and heart have shaped our agency for decades.
